Belly Breath
Breathing with your diaphragm is the healthiest way to breathe and the one that is most likely to activate the relaxation response in your body. One way some people find it easiest to illicit this type of breathing is with this version of the belly breath.
Lie flat on your stomach, preferably on a firm surface like the floor
Fold your arms and place your forehead on your arms
Now breathe as you naturally do, but place your focus on the pressure of your stomach against the floor as it rises and falls with each cycle of breath.
Continue this pattern for a minute or longer.
