Brief Meditation Practices Differ in Buffering Against Stress

New research from the University of Wisconsin at Madison seems to indicate that certain meditation practices may be better for individuals encountering stressful situations.

The study found that loving-kindness meditation and breath awareness meditation worked better for those facing a stressful situation than individuals in the control group. While individuals who practiced gratitude actually were more reactive to the stressful situation than the control group.
